For questions about the heating system and not necessarily delivery, please visit this page.

Do I need to shut my system off while receiving a pellet delivery?
The short answer is yes.  If you are home, this can be done easily.  However, we are discovering that more and more of our pellet deliveries are occurring unattended, that is, while you’re not home.  In this case, it’s best to ensure that your wood pellet heating system is completely up to Industry Standards.  This means having an outside shutoff switch and an outdoor fill point so that we can delivery your pellets seamlessly anytime.
How long will it take to get a pellet delivery after I request one?

The MESys Pellet Office requires at least 3-5 days minimum to schedule your pellet delivery.  During busy times when demand is high, it can take even longer.  It’s best to contact us sooner rather than later so we can schedule you efficiently.  The easiest way to schedule for a pellet delivery is to use the Pellet Portal.  And, if your wood pellet heating system is up to industry standards, we can save you the hassle of being home for delivery.

How do I order pellets?
The easiest way to order pellets is to use the Pellet Portal.  If you are an existing MESys customer, you can enter your account number as well.  If you are not currently a MESys pellet delivery customer, you can still use the form and we will contact you to start an account if you’re in a location where we deliver.

The MESys Pellet Office can be reached directly at 207-824-PELL (7355) or by email at [email protected].

Do I have to be home to receive a bulk wood pellet delivery?
It depends.  If your wood pellet heating system is up to industry standards, you can save yourself the hassle of scheduling to be home at the delivery time.  If you don’t have an outside shutoff switch and an outdoor fill point, you will need to make sure someone is present to shut the heating system off and restart it after the delivery.
When will the MESys Pellet Office confirm my pellet delivery?
Provided you’ve requested a delivery, the MESys Pellet Office will confirm with you by email or phone call the day prior.  There are few exceptions.  For example, if you delivery is scheduled for Monday morning you may hear from us Friday afternoon.  We confirm the day prior so that you know for certain your delivery is on its way.  The easiest way to request pellet deliveries is through the Pellet Portal.
Who does the annual service inspection on my wood pellet heating system?
MESys certified professionals perform the service inspections on your heating system.  The best way to make sure your system is running optimally is to contact your installer to get a service inspection.  MESys trains installers so that they are fully qualified as certified professionals to install and inspect your heating system.

In addition, there is a second, separate inspection for bulk wood pellet heating systems.  MESys delivery drivers do annual bulk wood pellet heating system inspections to make sure your system is up to industry standards.  They will usually do their brief inspection during the first delivery of the heating season.

How often does the bulk pellet delivery storage & fill point get inspected?
MESys wood pellet delivery drivers do brief bulk wood pellet heating system inspections annually.  This is separate from your annual service inspection.  Please contact MESys for more information about your annual inspection.  If your heating system or storage is another make or model, we recommend going straight to the manufacturer or installer to determine proper inspection protocol.
How can I empty my pellet storage if I am using my system for hot water?

It’s best to fully empty your pellet storage once a year and have a service inspection done on your system by a certified MESys professional.  However, if you are doing the responsible thing and using your system for hot water, we understand you may have some questions.

We can work with you.  If possible, we’d like it to only have one or two hundred pounds in storage so that we can perform the service inspection.  That way, you don’t lose your hot water and you get your annual service inspection.

How can I tell how much fuel I have left?
Depending on the size of your bin, bag, or silo, you should be able to estimate how much is left based on how full it is.  It helps to watch your pellet level on a weekly basis so you can see exactly how much your home uses over time.  Once you know your usage pattern, it will be much easier to know when to schedule for a pellet delivery.
How do I upgrade my system to industry standards for bulk wood pellet delivery?
Industry standards are in place to ensure seamless, efficient bulk wood pellet delivery.  Having your system up to speed will ensure your peace of mind.  The biggest two pieces to being up to industry standards are to have an outside shutoff switch and an outdoor fill point.

Contact your installer to upgrade to industry standard.  If you have a MESys system, you can contact us directly to get connected with a MESys certified professional to work with.  If you do not have a MESys system, you will want to talk to your installer about your options to install the service switch for outside shutoff.

How do I install the service switch for outside shutoff?
The best thing to do is to contact your installer to upgrade to industry standard.  If you have a MESys system, you can contact us directly to get connected with a MESys certified professional to work with.  If you do not have a MESys system, you will want to talk to your installer or a seasoned electrician about your options to install the service switch for outside shutoff.
Is the MESys AutoPay program a requirement of being up to industry standards?
The MESys AutoPay program is highly recommended to ensure that you have the most hands-off, seamless pellet deliveries.  It is not a requirement, but you should strongly consider signing up for it.  Having AutoPay and being up to industry standards go hand in hand because they offer you peace of mind and make your life easier.
