Carbon emissions by State

The interactive tool below allows you to see the volume of carbon dioxide emitted by state and to isolate the source of the emissions within commercial, industrial, residential, transportation, and electric power categories.  Further, the chart allows you to see the tonnage of CO2 that would be saved if growing percentages of the residential heating systems in Maine were converted from fossil fuel burning to wood pellet burning.  Note that Maine's greatest source of CO2  production is from residential heating, not from commercial or industrial or transportation sources.
